Brazen Bail Bond Scammers Have Scammed Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars From People In Florida
A growing bail bond scam has hit Gulf Coast residents. These brazen bail bond scammers are even impersonating bail bond agents. So far, they have stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting people.
Victims say the scam often begins with a call in the middle of the night. The caller claims a loved one is in jail and hundreds of dollars are needed to post bail.
The brazen scammers are using the name of real bail bail bonds companies.
Most of the people who are called are baffled by the calls. Why? In most cases their loved one is out on no-cash bonds. So, they don’t have loved ones out on bond.
Call recipients are trusting their instincts and are reaching out and calling their bond companies.
Representatives from Liberty Bail Bonds say they have received 20 phone calls from people saying they received a call. The caller claims to be from Liberty Bail Bonds.
Liberty Bail Bonds representatives say this has become an all-too-common issue and the impact has been overwhelming.
